Secure your spot for the year: Registration is currently open for September 2026. By registering today, you are reserving your child’s placement for the entire school year. Your spot will not be released to the public as long as your account remains in good standing. A $50 deposit is due at registration (applied toward your September balance). Once all details for the 2026–27 school year are finalized this summer, we will reach out with your enrollment packet, program handbook, and next steps to complete registration for the remainder of the year.

📅 Calendar & Billing Policy

  • ✅ Pay for What You Use: You are billed based on the official Stoneham Public Schools calendar. You are only charged for days school is scheduled to be in session — never for holidays, school vacations, or other planned closures.
  • 💰 September Deposit: Your $50 deposit secures your placement for the entire school year. The balance for September is due August 15, 2026.
  • 📆 Continuous Enrollment: You do not need to “compete” for a spot later. Your placement is held for all subsequent semesters as long as your account remains in good standing.

Yes. Once you register for September and pay your deposit, your child’s spot is reserved for the entire 2026-2027 school year. You will not have to re-apply or compete with the public for your placement in later semesters, provided your account remains in good standing. This summer we will reach out with your enrollment packet, program handbook, and next steps to complete registration for the remainder of the year. Your September balance is due by August 15, 2026.

Children currently enrolled in the Stoneham Early Learning Center (SELC) are eligible for the preschool enrichment program.

Transition is seamless. Children are walked to the cafeteria by their daytime teachers and signed into the preschool program immediately following school dismissal.

Because Wednesdays and scheduled Early Release days provide extended care (approx. 11:40 AM start), these days are billed at the $54/day rate. Standard school days are billed at the $36/day rate. The following dates are scheduled Early Release days and billed at the $54 rate:

September 15 • October 2 • October 23 • November 20 • January 15 • February 4 • February 5 • March 12 • April 9 • May 6 • May 28 • June 4

The monthly rate is calculated based on the actual number of days service was rendered in that month, including the adjusted fees for half-days and early releases. Parents pay monthly based on the actual school day count.

If a track is full, you can join the waitlist directly through the RecDesk portal. Simply select the “Join Waitlist” button for your preferred track. We monitor the waitlist closely and will contact families in the order they joined as soon as a spot becomes available.

Children should bring a labeled water bottle and a change of clothes daily. Important: Children will need to bring a nut-free lunch on all Wednesday and early release half-day programs.

Children do not need to be potty trained to attend. Families are responsible for providing all necessary diapers, wipes, and supplies for their child. Families must provide diapers, wipes, etc.

The designated pick-up location is the cafeteria door of the SELC (located inside Stoneham High School).

We know this is a change from what many families have been used to, and we want to be transparent about why we made it. The short answer is that consistency matters — for your child, and for the quality of the program we’re able to provide.

When kids attend on a predictable schedule, they build stronger relationships with their peers and with our staff. Those connections are a big part of what makes a program like ours work. Attending intermittently makes it genuinely harder for children to feel settled and for staff to know them well.

We also want to be honest that consistent rosters help us staff responsibly, maintain ratios, and prepare programming that’s actually tailored to the kids who are there. That benefits everyone.

Starting next school year (2026-27), we offer three enrollment tracks: M/W/F, Tu/Th, or all 5 days.

We don’t offer single-day enrollment. We’ve moved to fixed weekly tracks — M/W/F, Tu/Th, or all 5 days — because regular, predictable attendance is what allows kids to get the most out of the program and for us to serve them well.

If you only need part-time care, you can choose the track that best fits your family’s schedule. If you need full-week coverage, the 5-day track has you covered.
